Puppy Application Process
If you are interesting in being considered for a Selah Havanese puppy, please fill out our puppy application and 'submit' it or email the information to us at selahhavanese.com. Selah companion puppies are $2000.00.
Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. I will review your application, contact you via email, contact your references and vet and then schedule a time when we can chat over the phone or preferable you can schedule a visit. About Selah Havanese Puppies
All of our dogs are AKC registered. All of our dogs are screened by a Veterinary Board Certified Ophthalmologist. Our dogs that are 1 year or older are screened for patellar luxation, BAER hearing, and cardiac. The test results are registered with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). They also have had blood panels to check for liver and kidney function and a full DNA evaluation through UCDavis.
Our show prospect puppies are sold on full AKC Registration with a contract that states that the puppy must be shown and finished to it’s AKC championship as well as complete and pass all health testing before it can be bred. Please let me know if you are interested in a show prospect puppy so we can begin discussing additional contract details and purchase pricing.
Our companion puppies are AKC registered and sold on a “non-breeding” spay/neuter contract and must be spayed or neutered at 10-18 months of age. Puppies go to their new families around 9-12 weeks of age. We offer a congenital health guarantee on all pups, and lifetime buy back policy.
All puppies are BAER tested, microchipped, and have a well puppy exam with verification for your vet. Our puppies also go home with a puppy book that includes a 3-generation pedigree, health records and information, vaccination records and information, verification of parents health testing, breed and training information, puppy blanket and familiar toy, as well as pictures of puppy and parents.
Placing our puppies:
Litters are evaluated at 8 weeks. At that time I will decide which puppy/s will be staying here as potential show pups. The rest of the litter will then be 'sorted' according to the unique temperament of the puppy and the lifestyle/needs/desires of each family, taking into consideration sex, color and puppy preferences as much as possible. Priority is given to families who have previously placed a holding fee deposit for a puppy. If all else is equal, date of deposit is used to determine placement. Selah Havanese reserves the sole right and authority in the placement of our puppies. The health and well being of our puppies is always of utmost importance to us and we will only place puppies into homes where we feel they will thrive. While we attempt to meet sex/color preferences, our puppies are always placed first and foremost according to the temperament of the puppy and how well it will fit into the lifestyle and expectations of the new potential home.
All Selah puppies MUST be picked up in person at our home. We feel this is a very important aspect, learning where your puppy was raised and also giving the mom’s a chance to meet the family that is taking their precious baby home.
